Мне кажется тут различие есть... если сделать - подружился, то выходит якобы ты с этим человеком вроде до этого не общался... но это далеко не всегда так...
а если сделать - добавил нового друга, то выходит, что новый человек уже был твоим другом и теперь ты его добавляешь в список, что тоже далеко не всегда именно так... т.к. добавляют и знакомых и не знакомых людей в друзья...
В русской версии "Добавил в друзья" эта разница не так бросается в глаза, т.к. саму фразу можно по-разному интерпретировать...
может лучше сначала дату писать а потом время в сообщениях??

удобнее видеть сначала число: on Mar 29, 2008 at 0:01am
Слушайте, может, я тут не в тему, но неужели так и будет называться как на аватрке - "in contact"????

Мне кажется, что необходимо сделать выбор языка на "стартовой странице", ибо пока что www.vkontkte.ru в любом браузере с пустым кэшом открывается на русском. А это ведь мешает иностранцам зарегистрироваться!
well it's all good ...i think it is cool but names of universites and other things related to it is still in Russian and i would advise that a quick translator should be attached to our pages because, i think that the major problem that occurs here with languages is in understanding massages writen in Russian and to russians vise vasa..well so far GOOD JOB! AND THUMBS UP!
I think that there is no need of these constant "my"s
e.g. "My Profile", "My Friends", "My Photos". it would be better to make them just "Profile", "Friends", etc.
finally, you can always look, how it is done on facebook if you doubt if i am right here or not
another example of this: in Microsoft Windows it is 'Мой Компьютер' in russian version, but 'Computer' in the english one
а можно на первой странице сделать сразу rus eng, чтобы человек, который не знает русского мог сразу поменять язык?
и регистрацию сделать на английском?
а то вы меняете весь сайт. а как же человек может понять как вообще регистрироваться, если он не знает русского??
Whereas I have read http://www.facebook.com/terms.php, there was a following paragraph:

As the english version of vkontakte arises, phrases like "Wall-to-Wall" and other similiarities with facebook.com might become more obvious and, therefore, vkontakte may be accused in copyright insult.
This topic is just for vkontakte administration in order to pay attention.

You're right, Wall-to-Wall is also a strange phrase and we are not Facebook, neighter we want take their strange language into our network, but some translators used it. In next version of our english interface, we will use some better words, not because of the Facebook terms, because of we have some better words ;-)
Furthermore I'm not sure that a "wall" is worldwide trademarked by the facebook company, I don't think that.
I understand that Vkontakte is a parody to Facebook, is it not? I think it would be great if there was a home page, where the recent activity of your friends and yourself would be stated.:)
Actually that is a tecnical question, i'm writing and hope to get some answers..
I'm сonnecting from Turkey, but without any trick browsers are not able to сonnect www.vkontakte.com (ip bans or dns blocks etc..) How can i solve this problem and if site owners blocked please tell me why..
If anyone know about that subject please inform me about it by personal messeage. As i tried to find some technical support from help page but its all russian language and i can't find any admins or technical supportes about that problem.

there are some linguistical mistakes but for the foreigners who are living in RUSSIA it's very helpfull to operate their account.

Рассматривается ли возможность создания параллельных профилей на разных языках? Как минимум, неплохо было бы перевести личные данные, мне было бы приятнее называться Artem Liubeznyi в английской версии.
Украинской это, кстати, тоже касается.
Может вы вернете мне мои проценты? Или вам на ваших юзеров совсем наплевать?
Нашел тут несколько отличных идей и хочу их поддержать:
1) переименовать в InTouch; ну, или хотя бы сделать типа английского зеркала, как раньше было у ВКонтакте несколько дополнительных зеркал... Да и англоязычным пользователям что толку с этого перевода? Как они сюда попадут, если регистрация на русском, да если кэш пустой у браузера, то все равно русский сначала появляется.
2) на счет заведения аналогов имен на английском; существуют общие правила транслитерации слов, а уж имен - подавно! Сделайте это по-умолчанию, а тем, кто захочет сменить - Моя Страница -> Редактирование.
3) (от себя) добавить новые цветовые схемы. Я считаю, что для InTouch нужна другая схема - черная с насыщенно желтым. IMHO =)
Имхо: черный с желтым у русских - это билайн, а у иностранцев - атомное оружее (или ядерное, ну когда там такая фигурка из 3 треугольничков)
И вообще, по-моему, все должно быть в едином цветовом оформлении
Возможно... Но ведь это никому не помешало сделать цветовую схему ВСоюзе =)
