Practical English Usage. Michael Swan. Oxford.
Grammar In Use. Martin Hewings. Cambridge.

 Hi there!

I've been learning English for some time, and now think of preparing for CAE exam at British Council. Could anybody please suggest decent cources in Kiev for that? I would have thought of preparing on my own, but I guess learning language in a group is much more fun and productivity.
Maybe anyone have already passed the CAE? Which books have you been using?

Thanks in advance,
Leonid

Hi, boys & girls. i am fresher in this group, but i hope, i'll like it!

 Hey everyone,

After nine years of living in the US, I can tell you one thing for sure. If you want to improve your spoken and practical English, do not rely on books! Watch movies, cartoons, television shows as much as you can. You have to understand that books and magazines are all written in a certain kind of language, which limits the area where they can improve your vocabulary.

Ideally, you should combine reading, listening, and watching native English speakers. If you want to get the hang of practical language, films are the best solution.

Hope this helps.

I totally agree. Books often offer "classic" English, which is rarely used in real life, but you can pick up plenty of live expressions and words from movies

 Hi everyone,
I need your help! I used to know english very well, but 4 years without practicing shows that i have forgotten everything, even in this massage, I'm sure you will find a lot of mistakes, so my question is: where can I go in Kiev to improve my knowledge's, because there are so many schools so I can't even choose one of them
Thank you beforehand!
