Quotations.

"Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all it's pupils". H. Berlioz.

"Never explain - your friends don't need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway" E. Hubburt.

To my mind we could find a great wisdom in quotations like that. And this knowledges might be very practical and actual.Who would like to add some?
Plaese, teach us but don't kill us!

According to all known lows of aviation, there is no way that a bee should able to fly.
It's wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.
The bees, of course, fly anyway.
Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

Compass, I don't think anyone's planning to kill anyone here....unless WHJ finds out who swiped his case of beer, then some blood may be spilt...
One of those quotes will be in the next issue of Business English! So make sure you all buy it to read some similarly brilliant pearls of wisdom!

Lady Nancy Astor: "Winston, if I were your wife, I'd poison your tea."
Churchill: "Nancy, if I were your husband, I'd drink it."

Good call Compass! Now let me think of some of my old favourites...

 More of Winston Churchill please.

 Certainly!

Bessie Braddock: "Sir, you are drunk."
Churchill: "And you, madam, are ugly. But in the morning, I shall be sober."

Churchill also famously said of Russia: "I cannot forecast to you the action of Russia. It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma."

"We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."

I heart Churchill!

I should've been more attentive and have read the first issue of "Business English" till the end (it happened eventually)! There are a lot of brilliant quotes on page 54. And I should change my "Compass" nick-name to "Automatic brake" ;-)

#5 One more Q. from Churchill ( I do think the world of him!!!)

" Your create your own universe as you go along"

"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see".
Mark Twain

 In wine there is wisdom,
in beer there is freedom,
in water there is bacteria.

Ben Franklin.

"Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much". Oscar Wilde

Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black - Henry Ford

Will Михалыч Vernon: Yes, thanks for that, it's my most favourite!

"When power of love overcomes love of power the world will know peace"
Jimi Hendrix

"Man needs so little to console him or to soothe his grief"

"Modern intelligence won't accept anything on authority. But it will accept anything without authority"
