Does Great Britain really needs a monarchy in the 21st century????

Thye head of the state is Prime Minister, by the way. Monarchy is just an official status of the state of GB and NI. Your question is not correct in this way. The Queen doesnt have much power, you should learn more about the political sistem of GB. If you do so you willo never ask such stupid things again!

Computers make mistakes too. And I agree with you and Maria. As for me, I don't know english very well, but I want to know it, that is why I am here. And as for political system, I think that it is quite good for ensuring high level of people life. I don't see causes, why GB must back out of it.

Just a thought: The British will never abolish the monarchy. Even they wished to they couldn't since the whole country is steeped in tradition. Moreover, the law is constructed the way when needed to be changed such dramatically there should be a revolution. You know, all want their lives secure )))

I completely agree. Britain without monarchy wouldn't be Britain any more ...,it will lose its identity & the most distinguishing feature.

well, de jure the HEAD OF STATE is the Queen while Prime Minister is the head of the Government.))) Of course, de facto the Prime Minister has greater powers which does not make him the "Queen" though.
